About Southern Image Quartet
Southern Image Quartet began as a ministry of the local church, to serve as an enhancement to worship. However, it soon became apparent that God had other plans! The group found itself being requested for appearances outside the local church. From that beginning over 15 years ago, Southern Image has been blessed immeasurably! Certainly, there have been some trying times, but every time a trial arose and it seemed Satan was at work, another door opened. Southern Image has had some personnel changes, but God has always provided. Over the years, the group has been privileged to perform with such artists as Squire Parsons, Palmetto State Quartet, The Perrys, Tony Gore, The Hoppers, Brian Free & Assurance, Gold City, The Florida Boys, The Kingdom Heirs, Signature Sound, The Anchormen, The Dixie Echoes, The Dove Brothers and New Ground. They have made several radio and television appearances and are an annual feature group on Gospel Music Expo, June Jubilee and Gospel Crossroads Supper Club. In 2002, Southern Image was honored by being invited to sing at National Quartet Convention.

Each member is adamant in the belief that God has called us to serve Him in this capacity. They are fortunate to have the support of their families in this venture. Please include Southern Image in your prayer lists and chains, as they definitely know that prayer is what keeps the ministry going. Thank you, and may God Richly Bless!

SHAY GUESS  --  LEAD    Certainly a familiar name in Gospel Music circles, Shay has been doing this practically his entire life.  He began as a drummer with his grandfather's group at a very young age, then sang with Heaven's AirwaysSouthern Tradition, and Faith, all of which he co-owned with the love of his life, Michi Lesley Guess.  Shay is one of the most talented musicians and songwriters you will ever meet, and some of his songs have been recorded by Southern Image, New Ground, and others.  As indicated, he is married to the former Michi Lesley, and they have two beautiful children. Shay is self-employed.
MICHI GUESS  --  ALTO:      Michi is Southern Gospel's first South Korean.  She was adopted from a South Korean orphanage at 2 years old. Losing her adoptive father in a boating accident, Michi and her brother were sent to live with their adoptive grandmother in Mississippi - a long way from Misawa, Japan where her dad was stationed at the time. . Michi learned to sing in English before she could speak in English. She remembers standing in front of the television at 5 years old and being mesmerized by the late Vestal Goodman. Everyone that hears Michi says they can hear that passionate influence. Michi again faced tragedy when she was 16 years old having lost her grandmother. This led to living with foster parents for some time and being separated from her brother. She continued to sing every weekend, doing what came natural. She married her High School sweetheart (Shay) and today they have 2 boys, Noa and Nehemia.
